House Update

I'm really trying to not get too hopeful about the state of the house.  Mike's dad claims that it should be ready for me to finish moving in about 2 weeks, and I was starting to believe it since the living room is nearly completely drywalled, however, he has injured himself and heaven only knows how long he'll milk that.  On Monday, Mike, his dad and I put up 3 more panels of drywall in the living room.  For some reason, the men are idiots at measuring to properly cut the drywall.  Mike's dad told me to measure for one of the more complicated panels (it had to go around the window and have an outlet cut out) and I got it right the first time (well, after marking it backwards the first time).  I'm apparently the official drywall-measure-er for the rest of this project.  I'm actually okay with that since when I cut it, it took 10-15 minutes to get the panel up compared to the 20+ minutes it was taking when they were measuring it.

It's even harder to not get my hopes up that I'll be moving in soon when Mike and I ordered the flooring and padding for the whole house (save for the bathroom, that will get tile) and ceiling fans for the living room and master bedroom.  Those are "finishing touches" of a sort, and having ordered them feels like the end, well, first end, is in sight.  I can't let myself get too excited because progress has been made before and the house is still so far from ready.
