What I'd like
I'd like to be a warrior.
I know now why people run to war.
I'd like to have anything at all mean more than what it does now.
I'd like anything to be more than it is.
I'd like injustice to have a cause and loss to be lamentable.
I'd like to harden. To become impervious and not have it be a reaction but a necessity. A skill.
I'd like to smite my enemies.
I'd like to give rise to justice and truth and nobility.
I'd like to have a rage that fires my sense of purpose.
I'd like to have a sticking point.
I'd like to be hardened, resolved, reformed, reserved.
Impervious and mighty.
I'd like to be a warrior, and scream my battle call to chill the marrow of my enemies and embolden all who wished they were warriors too.
