ERTC Aubri day 10
Woke up at 6am to get the next leg of travel started. It took a while to get everything packed up, and get myself on the road, mostly because I was bummed about having to leave mel - apparently when zac realized I was gone he was bummed. How quickly we go from peeing on my stuff to wanting me back :)
But, Indy and Curtis were waiting, so drive I did. I have found that 20min power naps while driving are making all the difference, so I try to add an hour to every trip to accommodate. It also helps I forget about time zone changes. So, I got to Indy at 2! And we immediately started partying. We kicked off wig lemonade and your choice of vodka on the patio under an umbrella, marveling at the fact that our lives had worked in such a way that we could do that.
We then moved out to broad ripple, where shots and drinks were had at old pros table, and then we moved to usual suspects for Amazing drinks and food - Gouda and bacon stuffed pork chop. Yeah.
After Curtis and inwalked around to try to settle the food, grab some supplies (aspirin and energy drinks), and see the neighborhood. Then we landed at his bar - monkey tale - for karaoke. I had to take a power nap in the car, but after i was golden. I was a little sedate, because I had already been drinking for 8 hours, and the cold was really starting to kick in. My voice was shot, which was super duper irritating. And Curtis Almost won a karaoke contest!
I started out strong with the classic Johnny cash, but by the time I closed with soul sistah, there was no voice left. Luckily another guy also celebrating his birthday helped me sing :)
Then it was 3am and they were kicking us out, and Curtis and I were making a mad dash for steak and shake (my god, is that actually food?). Shoestring fries and a bacon cheese burger later we were passing out on his man cave, dreading the 7am wakeup call for the next step of my trip :)
*note, the whole day was - of course - spent in a furious texting frenzy with varied friends, family and lovers well wishing me. People really brought the love this year :)
