ok, another list fo cool things, to try to elaborate on at another time
day two in amsterdam
1: renting bikes, which is the best idea ever in the world in amsterdam.
2: breakfast at sarah's pancake house
3: trying to change my and dad's return tickets.
4; dad and jen visiting the rijksmuseum without me while i wait outside, then go in without them afterwards while they go to the flower market.
5: anne frank house. holy shit, i nearly cried. dad, ben, and jenna go to the vodka museum.
6: searching and finding steak dinner, still trying to change tickets (obritz sends me to untied, sends me to sas, who never answers the phone)
7: wandering the teasers/redlight district with daddy and jenna (and swans). def got drunk, may have gotten a contact high? so much weed (duh?)
8: drinks at that one bar, again, with ben and jenna. weird weird weird ass guys hitting on me. scottish boys who think our accent is cute. poor ben.
9: wandering home drunk, eating belgian waffles
day three in amsterdam
1: we had to be out by 10, and had to store the bags at the train station. that took soome figuring out.
2; the van gogh museum was wunnerful!!
3: finally learning how to listen to each other. the bikes are returned successfully.
4: buying food, taking the train to paris, and all the inherent drama of finding and keeping a place to sit.
paris, day one
1: get to the hotel, sooooooo much room (after such teeny weeny rooms in london and amsterdam). we feel like rockstars. the local bar is nice, and we wander down to the champs de elysse, arc de triomphe, and the eiffel tower. all lit up. no lines. so we go up. paris is lovely by night
2; jenna and i eat crepes and ride the merry go round.
3: navigating at 2am, when metro's close, would be less fun and doable if it weren't for the absolutely wonderful metro app.
paris, day 2
1: bogie!!! yay bogie!
2: wandering montmarte, the sacre coure (bogie's first catholic church sitting), and the grounds
3: conversations by the fountain
4: birds pooping on us
5; finding the family
6: finding food
7: deciding to not get food and go back to the hotel instead
8: deciding to eat with bogie instead of the family, because criticism is reaching critical levels
9: out to notre dame, which is having mass! awesome!
10: getting lost looking for the c
11: daddy pushes me to far
12: jenna makes it worse
13; crying at the eiffel tower
14: bogie and i break off, because i can't take anymore for the night
15: wandering paris, the invalides, the tuleries, we find a fair! we eat cotton candy the size of our head!
16; drinking in bogie's room watching simplon beneath us
paris, day 3
1: woke up t a new day, much less drama.
2: off to the louvre
3: how do we find the louvre?
4: standing in line for ever and ever and ever.
5; free headphones! and my guide to manuevering versailles, because apparently no one else has ever written out how.
6; so much shiny, huge, awesome, expensive, ridiculous stuff
7: it's hot. let's not see the gardens.
8: french macarons, chocolate frappacinos, and flan.
9; the biggest italian meal ever.
10: drinks at the local bar, now with jenga!
11: goodbye bogie :(
12: boys like me and jen, but not with daddy around. so, instead, bed.
paris, day 4
1: there is just no way, on the planet, i am gettinng up at 7:30. can't do.
2: on the road by 11.
3: holy crap was it super fast and easy to get into the louvre. like, 5 minutes. tops.
4: so much awesome. just. so. much. awesome.
5: the rain ruined all our other plans for the day, so instead ben and i napped while daddy and jenna did laundry.
6: wandering chatalet looking for food, we end up at a nice brasserie. we eat escargot, duck a'l'orange, beef bourignon, creme brulee, and burgers with fries (among others). i am ok with duck. i am not ok with escargot. it was warm! (but mostly just tastes like garlic...maybe pesto?)
7: drinks and uno with our wunnerful bartender, then bedtime
we leave for rome tomorrow morning
my jaw and tooth are killing me *sigh*
