Why the hell isn't
this leading every newscast on my TV? Instead I'm being told about the Pope's visit to Washington, D.C. -- an event about which I really don't care, save for the fact that it's going to cause traffic problems. You'd think that world-wide hunger riots would be more important than the number of people expected to receive communion from His Holiness. Of course, I am watching FOX -- so I probably deserve to expire from sheer frustration -- but still.
I'd also like to take this opportunity to say that the people in charge of my country are a bunch of self-absorbed, childish, know-nothing cretins. Two hundred million dollars to relieve a world-wide hunger crisis? That's beyond pathetic, especially coming from a government that operates on the principle of 'a billion dollars here, a billion dollars there, and pretty soon you're talking about some real money.'
