I don't normally pay attention to politics (not because I don't want to, but I seem to have a mental block that prevents me from focusing after more than a few minutes), but I think I'll make a concerted effort to pay attention to Edwards ... if only because of this. Because this is pretty cool.
Impressive....a candidate doing more than a photo op. Good on him.
That whole section of the country was just written off (or at least the lower income people who lived there once upon a time) and that needs to be addressed.
That's one of his... pet peeves isn't exactly the right word for it, but close.
(the best thing re: the n'awlins trip is that staff's original suggestions were for some sort of fancy dinner or photo op -- and he overruled them. i just wish it were getting more attention from the press.)
Now there's a guy who's welcome in my classroom any day! Let him see NCLB in action and how the teachers are struggling with it. Um, okay, that's off-topic - sorry about that, but the word "political" in any variation immediately sends me into NCLB-mode because it's being pounded into my head how much we need to "teach to the test."
Anyway, GO EDWARDS!! That's what a real person does! My issue of Newsweek came with Hilary on the cover and if I didn't need something in a magazine-form to read at the gym, it would've gone into recycling.
