Being stuck in a hospital is boring as fuck. Especially during the day, 'cause there's not a damn thing on TV. And Benton had to actually go to work, not that Ray blames him, just, there's no one to talk to and nothing to do.
He had his phone, and was idly flipping through numbers to see who he could harass when Neil's came up. He'd given it that first night, and Ray hadn't ever actually called him. Ray stared at it a long moment before hitting send.
My Com buzzes in my back pocket, and I juggle the papers in my hand, sliding it out of my pants and flipping it open to look at the screen, smile twisting when I see who it is.
I'd forgotten we'd even fucking exchanged numbers. Weird.
"What the fuck do you want?" I ask, but you can hear the grin in my voice, which is fucking annoying.
