Beijing, in pictures

One of many catch-up posts to follow. I never have my camera on me for some of the more incredible things I've seen here. My goal for this summer is to carry it with me every day. Honestly though, my life here is no longer in such flux and I'm no longer in awe that I actually live here. I have a job and a routine... it's all pretty ordinary.

Street corner on the 2nd ring road in Dongzhimen where I live. Every morning a group of old men gather there with their bikes and birds to chat and play board games.

The National Stadium / "Bird's Nest" - I went a couple weeks ago for a Good Luck Beijing! track & field event. The stadium was packed. It was totally outrageous to actually be inside. We were in the 2nd row.

National Aquatic Center next door

Antonio's birthday

Me & Jen goofing around with the camera while Stacey slaved away in Mary's kitchen

Chinese people LOVE white babies. Especially Aryan babies. My friend's friend was just standing in the street waiting for a cab when this man came over, took her baby right out of her arms and posed while his friend snapped away on a cell phone camera. Then he gave her back, reluctantly.

9:30am - the view outside my window (back when I was still crashing on my friend's couch in Wudaokou) during a thunderstorm. It was effin DARK. I woke up and was so disoriented and confused about why so many people were in the streets at 4am
