I don't even know how to type the noise that I make when it's this hot - sort of a "hehueueuerrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhchhhchchc". A co-worker just turned the lights off - it's very soothing.
Or would be if it wasn't FIFTY MILLION FREAKING DEGREES IN HERE. CELCIUS, EVEN.
Mentally, I'm all over the place today - did you know that Dennis Kuchinich has proposed an
impeachment resolution for Bush? No major American news outlet is reporting it - I got this link off Reuters. The bloggers are going crazy. Personally, I think buggering the whole country is slightly more reprehensible than getting a blow-job, but I know not all of my readers agree with me, so we'll leave it at that. However, the lack of news reporting is outrageous, considering how much negative press Hillary Clinton's cleavage received, or Barack Obama's choice to wear a flag pin or not. Priorities and objectivity are two things rather lacking in current news reporting.
I'm making good headway on my jacket - I'll post pictures when it's done. The braid flattens slightly as it is sewn down, and looks really pretty. I still have to decide whether I want to add another line around the neck, but I need to do the sleeves first to see whether I've braided enough. I made about 27 yards of braid.
We have a vulture baby! There were two eggs, but one seems to have been eaten by something - there is no second eggshell, and vultures don't eat their shells, so I'm guessing a snake came by before they hatched. But we have one adorable, stinky, hissing chick, and a mother vulture who is brave enough to stay in the barn (though out of sight) when I open the door a little bit to take pictures. Hopefully I'll be able to get more pictures this weekend.
sarahbellem was talking about Goth, and a book that Voltaire (of the band, not the French satirist) wrote about Goth stuff. I'm in agreement with her that it seems to be partially cribbed from (not plagarized, exactly, but certainly heavily informed by)
trystbat 's
Gothic Martha Stewart page. It also seems to draw a certain amount of its humour from the immortal
Sexbat, who wrote the fun
Take a Bite (more
Take a Bite here) in the '90s. Other amusing alt.gothic files can be found
here.
(Of course, I'm not Goth. I'm from London - we all wear black. And I'm a messy eater. It's more convenient that way. The fact that I actually own two pairs of theatrical fangs and a wardrobe of adorable vintage/clubbing clothes is pure coincidence.)
I'm not being too good with my correspondence, I realize, and I do apologize for that. I'm busy.
Melting.
