Update
Well life carries on being very busy and surprising - which must be good , after what seemed like an endless February and manic March.
I have finally finished my contract with the Learning & Skills Council - but not the work as I still have reports to complete and other ends to tidy up. - and I haven't been paid yet for Jan & Feb
I am now working for Halesowen College helping with an EQUAL European funding application and setting up a Muslim women's group . Both these are linked to developing self-employment and social enterprises , which is similar to the work with Wton Social Enterprise Network - where I am helping voluntary orgs to develop social enterprises. This again links with the work at TLC where Mahmood has built a nursery that is like a castle, and the top two floor are amazing spaces that he want to use for business enterprise - possible for Muslim women.
The other jobs are Extended Schools stuff - but I did a presentation to the Steering Group last week and they haven't asked me back - so perhaps I've blown that one. Also I have got a contract for a year to evaluate Basic Skills Delivery in Sandwell - but not started that yet. This weekend I have to work Sat & Sun as there has been a 'feeding frenzy' of Colleges eager to sign up redundant Rover workers - and I have been asked to help out as a Training Broker for Halesowen. I don't think anyone will be there - but you never know .
Work on the house seems to have slowed down - the hall floor is nearly laminated - and looks very good - but I am not sure that the builder knows how to finish it off ! - Maybe I will have to learn.
Apart from that , I have got to get the skirting board done in the breakfast room, then decorate , then new cupboard arrives on 27th May . - and we are done !
Just in time for patio time - I am planting up the pots this weekend for the patio - I've splashed out on new ones - 97p each - and some scarlet trailing geraniums to put with the thyme, lavender and lobelia
The vines have got big buds on them - just ready to burst - so its starting to look hopeful out there !
Roll on the summer - off to France in June and then to South Shields for the wedding in July - great .
