1. The kittens are doing so well. I worked from home today and had Violet's company for most of it, snoozing next to me on the sofa. They are now chasing one of their toy mice around like crazy creatures and keep running behind the TV with it. Sadly this does cause my internet connection to go on the fritz when they dislodge the relevant plug so I will have to do something about the wires this weekend. Violet has also taken to leaping up the living room curtains - I may have to invest in one of those squirt bottles soon,
yaaresse :)
2. I read some Dr Who fanfic as an experiment today. God help me, a lot of it is awful. There seems to be a lot of time-line-crossing Dr on Dr action requiring eyeballs to be scrubbed as a precautionary tactic. There is also some well-written stuff too, but it seems very focussed on Dr/Rose shipping. Fandom is the same the world over I guess. Anybody got any good Dr fic for me?
3. Dido and Aeneas kicks arse! I am loving it as a piece of music and I am also loving what singing it with Marion is teaching me about early music and about suspensions. We spent about 20 minutes thinking about small and large semitones in rehearsal today which was enormously enlightening. Marion is such a great conductor - I love singing with her:)
4. Some of the other choir members are rather less delightful though. Two of the other altos complained about me to our section rep today because they said that they found my humming the alto part in when we weren't being asked to sing to be "distracting". Fair enough - I wasn't actually aware that it was loud enough for them to hear and I will very gladly stop if it's annoying them. It pisses me off that they didn't have the guts to say it to my face, however. And the mean part of me suggests that they might sing a few more right notes if they tried it sometime. But that is unkind, and next week I shall simply smile at them and hum a lot quieter :)
5. Am so looking forward to this weekend, even though I have nothing much planned. It'll be nice just to spend some time around the house with the cats and catch up on a few bits and pieces. Maybe I will even get a chance to finish up some knitting projects - that'd be good.
Anywho, I'm to bed now to have another go at this sleeping lark. Cats are charging about liek woah. I may be some time :)
