Why do people push food on you? Why do they look disappointed and judgmental when you decline? I don't understand. We had cake today, for Allie's going away. I didn't want any. Each person, down in the row gave me a hard time about it. Nearly all of them KNOW that I am on a diet. Aside from that.. just look at me! I am very obviously overweight, and its pretty safe to assume that I shouldn't be eating cake. Anyway, it's annoying. It's embarrassing for me to say "oh no thanks, I'm on a diet" For some reason that bothers me. So I say "no thank you"
They say "well, why not?"
"I don't want any, thank you"
And they don't get it.
Then, Mike (a trim healthy guy) also refuses cake. They look at him sideways. "I don't eat many carbs" he says. Hallelujah, in my head. He doesn't eat pasta, or bread, or anything like that. And they go at him like crazy! Like it's the worst decision he's ever made in his life.
People are weird. That's all I have to say!
