Okay! Weekend write up.
This weekend was ridiculously long, but over all an okay opening weekend. Unfortunately, it decided to rain, snow and hail all weekend long. The rain would have been perfectly fine if it were warm. But it wasn’t.
Saturday morning I meet the new Front Gate crew. They’re all very lovely people and while I miss my old staff, the newbs are nothing to complain about. They’re efficient and get things done. And three of them are my new Joust Cheerleaders. Very sweet girls. Very impressionable. One weekend of cheerleading and I already have them hooked. They’re very enthusiastic, which is good. Bryan’s really impressed by them so far and this is what I wanted to hear.
At Front Gate, I had told Billy and Bryan that all the girls were new and Bryan was assuring me it would work out. Billy joked that if they weren’t loud, then so help him. And he raised his hand at me jokingly. I mean, for a man that spent three years ignoring my existence, he sure is joking around with me and talking with me a lot. And his brother, who is damn cute, comes over to harass my crowd from time to time. I don’t mind, because he’s nice enough to me and is fun to play with. He plays along when I stick my tongue out at him and everything.
But like I said, the girls are amazing. I work with them from 8:30-ish to 11 at front gate, then I lead them down to joust, we chat a bit, and then joust time. After joust, I return them to front gate and go off to do my own thing, which usually involves food of some sort and visiting the lovely ladies of Noblesse. And watching Parade.
At 2 I go to pick up the girls again and lead them to joust. We cheerlead, then I return them to front gate and do whatever I please. Today I spent most of my free time with Ruby, who is quickly going to become my wandering buddy. Skippy absconded us, taking my hand and asking me to accompany him while we went to get mac and cheese on a stick. He had whoever he was with escort Ruby and we caught up and chatted for a while.
Then he insisted I help out with sword fighting lessons since I often just heckled last year and Dante, our Jack Sparrow, couldn’t participate today as his knee was giving him troubles. So, Ruby and I went to go help with sword fighting lessons, which are always very fun. Honestly, even though I still harbor a grudge towards Skippy for what he did to me last year, I’m glad we’re still able to be friends and act like none of it happened. And the flirting and stuff is fine in character, but if he starts it up out of character, I will be the first to chew him out.
Unfortunately, with the weather as it was, I spent most of the day with blue hands. When Skippy heard this, he started breathing on one heavily and kissing it. Then his guard, that had distracted me earlier in sword fighting lessons with his amazing skills of contact juggling (honestly, it’s mesmerizing), took my other hand and rubbed it between his before kissing it. They want me to do the ‘woo-ing’ skit with them sometime as well, where he teaches Skippy how to woo a woman. I told them I was all theirs, whenever they’d like to.
It’s absolutely lovely being back on William’s side in the jousts. I nearly forgot how much I enjoy that big crowd. I still have the occasional asshole, but for the most part I have much more cooperative crowds. For the most part.
Yesterday morning, Bambi, who plays Queen Anne, approached my other cheerleaders and I while we were huddles and she thanked us for everything we do and stuff like that which really made my day a little better.
Also, the new knight, Sir James? Oh my god. His hair is to die for. It’s so beautiful and distracting and unf. Unf.
Um. I’m pretty sure that’s all. Or that’s all I can think of. For now. I’m sure I’ll have plenty more stories to tell. <3 But for now, I’m off to my other job.
