So, after my exciting last post about the ZSL Zoo Stampede, I managed even MORE exciting running news by getting a place in the Lottery Olympics Anniversary Run, 6 miles around Queen Elizabeth Park and finishing in the ACTUAL OLYMPIC STADIUM! Argh!!! In! The! Stadium!
The following afternoon, I then got blisters on my feet from stupid shoes, fell sort of down and across the stairs at the Phoenix Artist's Club (NO BEER HAD BEEN TAKEN!!), and knacked my RIGHT foot. Bruised, blistered... wah.
Thankfully, it was nowhere near as serious as February's actual tumble in the snow, but still, a significant buzz harsh. Have been limping around all week, but am better now and planning to go for my first run (lumber, waddle, etc) in several months on Saturday. Unless I'm hungover, of which there is a SIGNIFICANT CHANCE.
Hooray for me!
Whoever wanted to know what John Simm was up to these days, well, he's
doing Pinter at the Trafalgar Studios.
Whilst walking home last night, I diverted out of my way to see what was happening in Leicester Square for the STAR TREK NERDIERE, hoping to see some big screen Cumberbatch action. However! I went by the 1mperial, which just so happens to be where all the cars were pulling up... and did I manage to time it just as Benedict Cumberbatch was getting out of his car? WELL YES I DID! Hooray!!
I can report back:
- he is very tall
- his hair is surprisingly delightful, even if it is gelled back like GREASY DATA
- he can wear the heck out of a suit
- his hearing must be quite bad as he did not manage to hear me shouting "give us a few lines from The Waste Land, son" (also there is the fact that I did not actually shout this)
- I haven't quite figured out how to work the camera on my new phone yet! So no pictures. Helas!
Now that I have been within 10ft of Benedict Cumberbatch I reckon that future HAND-HOLDING can't be too far off.
glynnis has pointed out that if we get hitched, I should probably change my incredibly PEDESTRIAN and HUM-DRUM first name to something a little more worth of his surname. I'm going for Sarahdvoratlundar - it's bagsied! You other fvckers can just step off.
And finally... I'm playing records this weekend at Europoptimism! I am super-excited! It is FREE too, so please do come along and give me a good old heckle, it would be SUPER! The 'tails:
