Weekend wrap up:
Thursday: Finally got to play Flaming Tetherball at Hazard Factory. Jason drove me in his truck and I was super glad we did not take my car. Apparently SoDo is one giant pothole. Had to go home at some point late in the night so I could get enough sleep for work the next day...ha! I got maybe two or three hours and then had to do a computer training course, which I handled alright. I was reading ask metafilter the entire time, and each time the instructor walked back to check that I was on the right page, I would minimize it (stealthy!). But I only realized after he left both times that it was a somewhat provocative page title, like "Condoms? Condoms!" or "Sex with a strap on!". Bah. He still tried to convince me to apply to the IT department cause I'm a nurse that knows how to use computers in a less than cursory way, plus I have actual programmed a bit before. I want to stay at the bedside for now though.
I got back from work on Friday afternoon and bummed around for a bit because I was incredibly sleep deprived. I went out to Vela's in Belltown (shudder) and saw many Moonrockers including Jason, but he was on a date so I mainly hung out with Jack. I was sad I missed the other Moonrock party...but two in one night is just too damn much. A little past midnight I got to meet up with Paul at the Night Kitchen for a delicious dinner. I love having dates that start at random times like one am. We slept at my house then went out to coffee at SoHo and brunch at Twilight.
I chilled around the house for the most part that evening, then went to the Titanium Sporkestra Drunkraiser at Fonda La Catrina. I ended up getting a ride with Paul and Lindsay even though it was their date night and I was really trying to avoid interacting with them too much. It's not that I feel especially jealous of Lindsay, it's just that I'd rather keep on her good side or maybe just not on a side at all. I think I've kind of given up being friends with her in any real manner. Not like I was trying that hard for that either, but I thought it might be possible. The party was slightly poorly planned. I worked with Tony on "security" and checked IDs at the door. Paul was on bar and Lindsay was on door for nearly the entire evening. I had a much looser job description, so I tried to help out a bit by spelling Lindsay at the door when she started getting really pissed off about something. I basically said, "Hey, it's your date night, you should go hang out with Paul...Relax and have fun for a little bit!" Apparently she was pissed off at Tony who kept on ordering her around or something so she ended up not appreciating my offer very much and took back her position as quickly as possible. She spends a lot of time pissed off. I don't really need that in my life.
I was talking to Paul and Jason until about four in the morning, when I had to go to sleep as I was still pretty sleep deprived from the week before. Jason had mentioned that it was lame to be going to bed alone on a Saturday night, so he volunteered to come over when he was done with work which I thought was incredibly sweet. I somehow managed to get up when my alarm went off at seven twenty five, right as the bus went past and Jason knocked on the door. We curled up and went to sleep quickly and I again have to admire the fact that I can sleep while cuddled up with Jason like I can't with nearly anyone else (used to drive my ex husband *crazy*).
Met up with Paul for coffee on Sunday morning after having breakfast tacos with Jason, then took the afternoon off. Went to a fun country show with Paul that night at the Tractor (Wayne Hancock) where both of us were almost tempted to dance, but we didn't. We kind of made up for lost time before we lost it as Paul is going on a quick vacation with Lindsay to some hot springs in Oregon, then I'll be working when he gets back. I won't see him until Sunday, which I think may be the longest I haven't seen him while I'm not on vacation since we started dating. It's not an unmanageable amount of time but I still feel like I'm going to miss him.
Monday brought skiing at Summit Central with Paul. I did all blue runs on both the 360 lift and the high speed quad. I finally ate it once on the transverse trail back to the lodge on my last run. It wasn't very dramatic though. I just kind of fell over. Didn't even lose a ski! My boots worked well though the front of my shins are really roughened/sore/blistered for whatever reason. Paul and I stayed on the slopes until they closed, then headed back for one last bit of hanging out before he disappeared.
