As summer approaches, and we desire things that both cool our throats and make us drunk, allow me to tell you about my newest discovery, Bourbon Slush. I was at my friend Dustyn's parents house for an "Adult Easter Egg Hunt" (where they hide eggs with money inside them, and "nips" aka small bottles of liquor) and for refreshment purposes, we were given cups of an absolutely delightful substance. If you like whiskey sours, you'll love this. If you like Southern Lemonade, you'll like this. If you like alcohol, you'll like this.
Bourbon Slush:
7 c. water
3 c. bourbon (of your choice)
2 c. strong black tea
1.5 c. sugar
6 oz orange juice frozen concentrate
12 oz lemonade juice frozen concentrate
Mix ingredients in something large and freezer-worthy. Freeze for 24 h+ (depends on your freezer, but make it ahead of time by several days if it's gonna be hot outside). Scoop like italian ice and eat/drink/enjoy.
PS-I suggest melting the sugar by making fresh tea and stirring the two together, otherwise you just have a lot of sugar sitting at the bottom.
I have a large tub of it in my freezer right now. I am sooo excited.
