I'm not gonna lie, I spent a good evening stalking down Simon Woods' filmography just because. Then I found this thing-- a weird little artistic 7-minute film put together for Yves Saint Laurent's men's Fall/Winter 2008 collection. I just LOVE IT. The artistic direction is TO DIE FOR--oh god, I love triptychs, I can't even express how much, and I love how the director maps it from a form primarily associated with still religious art into moving film; the motions are so dramatic and deliberate; and the muted elegant colours are so YSL. And do I love menswear? Oh, you better believe I do. And Woods is in it.
I think too many of my aesthetically favourite things just came together. My eyeballs might explode. Stop me from gushing, please!
