toronto, not vancouver

I finally bought my ticket home today, and there was a... charming mix-up.

I went to the travel agency and the girl and I made do in awkward Japanese and English. I said, "I need a ticket to Toronto, Canada". There was a lot of searching done, took well over half an hour, and hardly any tickets could be found. I had to change the departure date three times, and scrap the plan to leave from Kansai International Airport and leave from Nagoya Centrair instead, before any availabilities popped up. The total was a whopping 20man (including fuel surcharge). So I was all ready to pay, had signed all the necessary forms, when I looked at the invoice.

I said, "Hey, well that's funny. Five airports! Nagoya to Tokyo to Portland to Vancouver to Toronto? That must be a record."

The girl's eyes widened, and she pointed to Vancouver, which was... the last city on the list. She said, "Toronto? You mean, you didn't want to go to Vancouver?"

"Uhh, no," I said. "Toronto."

Well, both of us looked at each other with this expression: O____O It's only lucky I hadn't officially paid her yet, for sending me to the wrong city.

So it was back to the computer search, and luckily, an open seat was found much more quickly for Toronto (I guess Japanese people like to visit the west coast more). Unfortunately, it wasn't any cheaper, but at least I'll be back home from 8/6 to 8/24!
