My 10 Favorite Albums And Maybe Why I Love Them, If I Feel Like Explaining It (Part II)

You know I was going to post what my clue suggested until I began looking through my CD collection to see if I actually have 10 favorites to talk about. And as I was browsing I stumbled upon what I'm about to post. Now before I tell you, or your eyes look downward, the last time I listened to the album all the way through was December 30th, 2004. That's according to itunes. And since then I have totally forgotten about album til now. so without further adieu heres number 110 on my last fm chart:

9. Is This It? - The Strokes

Now you may be wondering why this could be one of my favorite album if I havent listened to it in such a long time. That simple, it's still a really solid album. I'm currently listening to it right now and it's like I never put it down. I still know all the words to all the songs.
I remember first hearing the song "Last Night" while watching MTV. The video showed up as one of thier "spanking new videos" things they ran between shows. To me the song was catchy, new and interesting. So this was in 2001 a month after 9/11 while everyone was in a panic I was over at my friend Alex's house getting a tutorial on a program called Napster. One of the first songs I ever downloaded was The Strokes' "New York City Cops" and I loved it. Great Song. Now Alex had a tendency to delete all the music I downloaded onto his computer, and I don't blame him, so in November I finally bought the album and was very upset with the fact that "New York City Cops" was not on there and to this day I still blame the terrorists for making The Strokes remove that song.
But the CD was still awesome. "Last Night" "Someday" and "Hard To Explain" were quick favorites. Without a doubt "Hard to Explain" is what kept me coming back over and over again which lead to me exploring and loving the whole album. So I guess that one is the one that sealed the deal.

Song that did it for me:
"Hard to Explain"
