Well It's been awhile since I have posted here. I would like to say THANK GOD I figured out that right clicking a misspelled word in Firefox will correct it. As of now I have already had to use it twice. Guess which words.
But anyway I here to discuss my 10 favorite albums thus far in my life. These albums, to me, are absolutely perfect. I can pick them up when ever, listen to them all the way through and go "Ah, I am refreshed, thank you perfect album." They have withstood the test of time with me and on more than one occasion surprised me upon re listening to them. I'll number these just to confuse you.
10. Pinkerton - Weezer
Laugh if you will about this. Weezer was one of the first bands I ever got into as young teenager. It was around the time that the green album came out. I was planning on getting the new Sugar Ray CD, HA, but when I went to the now defunked Media Play I realized I was a week short of its release. Not wanting to go home empty handed I saw the green album on display so I bought it blindly because Joseph Butts enjoy and he was a cool cat so it's gotta be alright , right?. On first listen I did enjoy it. To me it had a different feel that I could relate to at the time. It was only until I saw them play a pre-recorded live show on MTV that I realized that the green album wasn't the first album. I went back to Media Play a couple of weeks later and sure enough they did have another album. Sitting there was Pinkerton, they didn't have the blue album in stock at the time so I didn't know about it.
I put it in my disk man and listen to "Tired of Sex". WOW, already it was better than the Green album. At 2:30 on "Getcho" DAMN I like this. "getcho" and "Why Bother" became quick favorites that I would listen to before I even gave myself a chance to explore the rest of the album. The song that really sealed the deal for me was "Pink Triangle". I loved the riff, the lyrics, just everything about it at that time was amazing and for the most part still is today.
As I'm writing to this I'm listening to the album and I totally forgot the song "Butterfly" was on there or what it even sounded like. But right when the music started I knew all the words. I listened to the album so much that it is engraved into my brain. Looking back at it this is really what started my path to the music I listen to today. Now imagine what would have happened if I had picked up that Sugar Ray album. It's kinda scary.
Song that sealed the deal: "Pink Triangle"
Next time: The first CD I Got online because it wasn't sold in Savannah.
