Hey.
Long time ago I recall having posted a question for you guys' advice for a new video card. Well, lots of time has passed. Especially in terms of hardware that gets outdated within weeks sometimes.
If I were to buy a new video card in the coming weeks, what would you guys recommend? A few guidelines follow:
* Linux support isn't crucial since I don't play games in Linux. But, it does need to work in Linux but I could live without proper 3D and stuff support. Just need 1600x1200 resolution and max colour depth.
* I'm not a heavy gamer and certainly don't play them frequently. However, with a good card, more graphic intense games may be tried out.
* I don't want to drop $500 on a card. I just can't justify that to myself seeing the games I play.
The kind of games I current play are in the realm of MS Flight Simulator, Need for Speed, Grand Theft Auto. I sometimes like to play Sims and games of that nature.
Speaking of games in general. Some of the games of late get to be very boring to me lately. You fight entities, they die. You collect experience points. You get stronger. You fight stronger entities. You kick ass. You collect points, you get stronger, fight stronger enemies. More people join your party, you all get stronger, fight even more enemies, and it never ends. The last games I played that come to mind as I typed this are "Dungeon Siege," "Mortal Kombat," "Summoner: Goddess Reborn" and more.
I'd like to play games again if there are things out there that are more challenging that does not become 'same old, same old' after a while. Any suggestions? Any demos of said games so I don't need to drop $50 on a game I end up disliking?
Any suggestions are highly appreciated.
And if ya'll need added incentive. I'll buy coffee/chai/whatever floats your boat for the person whose suggestion I end up going with. I'll buy coffee/chai/whatever for the ones I don't go with either, just because I'd love to get together with folks in general. So you all win, just need to reply. :)
