School started yesterday. After just two days of lecture it is looking to be a rather rough 8 weeks. We are in our neuro-psych block - and as it turns out the brain is a rather complicated thing.
Anyway I have a quick story from our lectures yesterday which I found at least mildly entertaining.
The microphones in the lecture hall are not always exactly in tip top shape. But yesterday it was working fine actually. One of our lecturers gets up to give his lecture and suddenly the microphone is not working. He spends a good 5 minutes fiddling with it and finally throws up his hands in exasperation and announces in a not quite loud enough to carry all the way to the back of the room voice that he is just not going to use the microphone. Then the tech guy (who was never in medical school, just as a side note) gets up and takes the microphone, a split second later he says
Tech guy: You just need to un-mute it
Class: giggles
Lecturer: takes back microphone sheepishly, points to himself and says “brain surgeon”
Class: bursts out laughing
You cant take your own moral away from this story.
