Ridley emerged from the tent and then paused to wait for Tim. He felt quite content after their lovemaking session this morning, prepared to start the day, but also quite aware that he'd be going to bed alone tonight. A number of Athosians were up this morning, mostly ones who hadn't drunk too heavily last night, he noted. The smell of some sort of smoked meat being cooked reached him, making his mouth water.
Tim got himself together and tried not to think about when he'd have to leave. The thought of leaving Ridley and Tormin bothered him more than he could or would say. Tim stepped out of the tent and the smell of food reminded just how hungry he was. "Whatever that is smells delicious." It was much safer to talk food instead of his real feelings.
"Ai, it does," Ridley answered, starting to crutch his way to the fire. He grinned as a he caught sight of a smiling face among the group of kids. Tormin was up and apparently helping Charin by rolling some sort of dough into little balls which Harju was then flattening with a look of utter concentration on his face before handing them off to Charin, who was cooking them one at a time in a skillet over the fire. "Good morning, ekse," he greeted as he made it to the fire. "That smells exceptionally good, whatever it is." He sat down on a nearby bench.
"Smoked meat," Tormin answered, plopping down on the bench beside him.
"This cut is from the belly," Charin said. "Harju, you are too near the fire. Go and sit down."
The boy complied, skipping over to where Tim was just sitting down beside Ridley and giving them a pout. "I wanted to sit next to Tormin, but there is no room."
Ridley glanced at the bench beside Tim, but this particular plank was relatively short and there wasn't really any room to scoot over so Harju would fit.
Tim glanced at the plank and didn't see how they would all fit but he couldn't disappoint the kid. "No problem," he said to the boy with a smile before moving to the ground. He didn't mind a little dirt as long as everyone was happy. Sitting this way next to Ridley's feet reminded him of other things which made his squirm slightly. Hopefully breakfast was going to be done earlier than later.
Ridley slid over to give Harju room to sit next to Tormin, arranging his legs and crutches around Tim. "Comfy down there, mwana?" he asked, grinning.
