Day 50, noonish; Infirmary; Attn: McKay, Beckett [f]

John had dozed fitfully, starting awake almost as soon as he began to dream, too conscious of the danger there even in sleep. Every noise wakened him, body already tensing in preparation for fight or flight. The nurse's arrival with lunch was the most recent interruption. He smiled charmingly at her as he took his tray and then studied the ( Read more... )

Rodney walked into the infirmary, his stomach growling again as he watched nurses handing out lunch and helping patients eating. He knew he had a powerbar somewhere in his pockets, and he seriously considered opening and eating it right here right now. John raised an eyebrow and then silently took a bite, intentionally savouring it just to irk Rodney, closing his eyes and chewing thoughtfully while making little appreciative noises. I wasn't actually all that bad. It just wasn't what he wanted and he wasn't all that hungry to begin with. Rodney's mouth watered and he hated Sheppard, if possible, even more. The bastard chewed with gusto, slowly tearing at his food and popping it into his mouth.

"No, I'm just here to gloat," he gave back defensively, glaring at the man. But somehow he coldn't manage to keep a straight face and grinned sheepishly. "So, um. You got injured."

Rodney frowned. He didn't like the term "boyfriend". It sounded so... immature. Granted, Carson and him had been behaving like hormone-crazed teenagers, which had been fun and very satisfying. And Carson was anything but a "boy".

"Yeah, you know how he gets," Rodney said with a shrug. "Be glad he's not your boyfriend. If he's unhappy he's not only sending me to bed." A grin was creeping on his face as he remembered how Carson had shown him how he was not happy about Rodney's reaction when he shouted at Radek.
