[day 48] night, Rodney's personal quarters, attn: Rodney, Radek (f)

There wasn't much talk as they walked back to Carson's quarters. He knew the Athosians had got his surprise ready for Rodney already, and he was looking forward to seeing Rodney's reaction, but Radek was so depressed and subdued that Carson was very worried.

Rodney blushed and squeezed Carson's shoulder. In all this mess he'd totally forgotten about the surprise Carson had mentioned earlier this afternoon.

A surprise in the bedroom?, he wondered as he slowly traversed the living room to walk over to the bed room area. More toys?

Rodney let out a soft gasp when he spotted the bed. A large bed. Large as in -- large. It took up most of the space in the bedroom. He'd never seen such a large bed.

"Um, Carson?" he asked as he slowly turned around to Carson and Radek.

Carson followed Rodney into the room. He stood gaping at the huge bed the Athosians had found for them. "Uh... my. That's... bigger than I thought."

Rodney looked back at the bed. "Yeah, it is. Huge."

Turning back to Carson he frowned. "How the hell did you get it in here? And um," he blushed some more. "Why is it so big? Is there something..."

Various emotions flittered across his face and he wasn't sure, he liked the surprise. Well, the bed seemed to be okay. But who knew what Carson implied by getting a bigger bed into their bedroom?

"I have no bloody idea how they did it," Carson said. "I just wanted something you'd be more comfortable in, so we'd not give your back any problems." He shook his head, mystified, wondering if the Athosians had suddenly developed the power of teleportation or something.

Reaching out, he squeezed Rodney's hand. "But I must admit, it'll be lovely for our more, um, athletic evenings." He blushed a bit at that.

Rodney suppressed a whimper. "They?" It seemed like he wasn't going to be able to really enjoy the surprise.
