Day 27, Lunch; Cafeteria; Attn: Dumais
Before gonig to the greenhouse and labs for the day, Ridley checked out both sets of apartments that Fields had located for him. Each had its pros and cons, but both were certainly workable. He decided to leave the final decision till he'd shown them to Suzanne.
The day positively crawled until lunch time. He headed to the cafeteria and claimed their usual table by dropping his notebook computer in the middle and jacket over a chair and then got into line.
He collected enough food for both of them, by now fairly conversant in Suzanne's likes and dislikes, and headed back to the table, suddenly seized by a case of nerves. Was he going too fast to propose living together when they'd only been lovers for three weeks? Or was carpe diem still the best policy?
