So the Pentagon has decided that a DoD directive that prevents commands from pressuring spouses to quit their jobs in order to attend events by threatening said spouses with talk of their husbands advancement in question if they continue working as Obsolete.
Call me crazy but aren't we living in the 21st century now or did we magically go thru some time warp where suddenly we are back to pre-ww2 mentality?
I read these articles about this happening and just laugh. Mostly b/c my husband doesn't want me to participate, since I don't usually have an edit button when it comes to the Military or our Government. Were I forced to participate in things like the "Wives Club" I'd probably wind up causing them to kick him out.
So if I ever hear a Chief or an Officer...or even one of their wives..tell me that I need to give up working so I can spend more time supporting my Husband's career in the Navy, I think I will have to pull a Degeneration X and just tell em to "SUCK IT"
