I'm at the radio station. This is the second week that I just happen to be in the building when I remember i'm scheduled from 3-4. I have class from 6-9 but I doubt I'll go. Maybe I will write in here once everyday for a week. And maybe that's a lie.
Monica and her roommate
Philicia came up to the city to visit their friend
Erica who goes to FIT.. and they also visited ME. I think it would be funny to have a great photo of me being crazy when you clicked on the "ME" but I'm at the school and not home so I can't.
Anyway, so I spent the weekend with them hanging out. It was great. I think someone from Gainesville should visit me every week end. Deal?
Saturday: Met up with Monica, Philicia and her cousin, Brett.
-Guggenheim, [and I totally got in free because I met a kid through LJ that works there and I asked about him and when the chick gave me my money back it was everything I gave her and it wasthebestdayofmylife]
-Central Park [we saw an old guy massaging some girls foot and the whole situation was just odd.. and he had a gold metal around his neck.. and as we passed by him on the wall of some building across from him was this big portrait of the old guy and all these articles that said he was the "Mayor of Central Park" .. he was apparently some famous runner.. ]
-The Metropolitan Museum of Art [we got in for free because it is donations only [and we were only going to stay there for just a bit]]
-Street Mime that was crazy [he was in black spandex and there were tons of people watching him from the steps of the Met. . I've seen him before on some subway.. he has a mask on and has puppets and played the same set over and over and the song is stuck in my head]
-St Marks
----
at this point I stopped writing.. it's now 4 days later. I'm losing motivation to write in here. ok.. anyway back to the weekend..
we went to St. Marks and visited all the [extremely over priced] "thrift" stores and record shops. I had my backpack with me [as I usually do, because I feel naked with out it] And everyone was going into this music store and I knew I wouldn't full heartedly flip through the hundreds of CDs so I decided to just sit on the steps outside. The weather was lovely, and I needed a good sit. I saw a guy pass that I recognized from school and I thought about how small the city was. And how big it was. And decided I would wait on the steps until I saw someone else I knew.
Then
Sasha passes by and dead stops and yells "You are so crazy!" and I look up and see her. Of all the streets in Manhattan she walks down mine. Sasha is in my classes and she is my friend and I like her. She asked what I was doing just sitting there, and I explained I was waiting for someone to pass that I knew. She was with her roommate Jayne and her friend Kevin and some chick that just got her belly button pierced [but she was on the phone and made no eye contact with me] It feels nice to see a familiar face in the city.
After saying goodbye to Sasha everyone came out of the store and we headed east.. and we got !free samples of Australian chocolate at some ice cream candy store. Then we went to a park all the way past Avenue B that I just had a feeling was there. But it was shady so we got out of there and went to some coffee place and sat around talking over our mediocre desserts for hours. We talked about a lot but the last conversation was about breaking my jaw.. and deciding if I should do it or not.
It was a lovely weekend. It really helped me to hang out with all of them. Philicia had a quote in the New York Post the day they left. She was asked her opinion on some sex book for middle school. mm hmm. Monica has connections to a couple places on the upper east side [pretty ritzy part of town, so I hear] Do I want to stay here next year? Do I want to stay here next semester? Do I want to stay here now? I really hope I don't get any seasonal depression or anything like that. I'm starting to feel it. But I think I can catch it, no? And tell it to go away?
I've decided to make a list of famous people I have seen since I have been here:
-Beyonce
-Tony Hawk
-Jimmy Fallon
-Queen Latifah
-Denzel Washington
and today I saw one more in a costume makeup shop:
Amanda Lepore I didn't really know who she was, but after my friend Lianna pointed her out she did look familiar. It was only until I got back to my friend's dorm and googled her up that I found out she use to be a MAN This woman was insane. ..man? whatever. Plastic surgery times a hundred.
I can't imagine looking in the mirror and seeing someone that wasn't originally myself. I mean.. let alone the fact that she was another gender..but the structure of the face and lips! It's like that artist
Orlan.

Today after class I went to
Jen and
Kaitlin's dorm and hung out all day. I had homemade chicken noodle soup, and then stuffing for dinner [before the dinner I had with Nancy [pumpkin raviolis[and flan for dessert]]]
It's always after an entry I really am proud of that I have trouble writing again. I will post photos soon as well. I need to stay motivated! I live in New York City. I decided that I accept that now, as I was walking home to the F train tonight. I am starting to get homesick. I will be in Florida in 8 weeks.
Smell you then,
Cheers.
