Teyla had a secret, and recent events hadn't helped her in dealing with it. Seeing people with their companions at the party, and hearing details of budding relationships made her heart ache, and she had no one to talk to about it. She decided it was time to change that but really, who could she confide in? Sheppard would laugh uncomfortably and then restrict her to Atlantis, and Ronon...Ronon would probably track the man down and shoot him; McKay...best not to tell McKay anything, the man had a sensitive spot the size of a peach pit.
She wasn't sure why she was going to Carson - of all people - for this. She supposed it was because she felt he'd be less likely to judge her. And his aversion to violence was a definite mark in his favour, so this would be why she was knocking on Carson Beckett's door, trying to think of how she would tell him about this very odd, slightly disturbing secret of hers.
She only hoped that he could keep it, as his penchant for blurting out anything that made him uncomfortable was well-known, and this...whis would possibly make him more than uncomfortable.
Teyla took a deep breath and prayed that this conversation wouldn't go awry.
