Statement of Purpose
Over the last several years I've found myself reading more and more fanfiction, enjoying some of it immensely. From the very beginning I tried to keep track of everything I read, and eventually started to also jot down brief notes about pairings and my snapshot opinion of each fic so that I would be able to go back and easily remember stories and perhaps rec them. This list has built up into truly insane proportions, so I thought it might be fun to start sharing some of it in a more organized fashion.
There's no way I'll be able to do this in one comprehensive fell swoop, so instead I plan to post random bite-sized snippets. At the very least, once a week I will post a list of five recommendations -- they might be fics read in the distant past but unified by pairing or theme, they might be all fics from one author, they might be the best five fics written in the past week that i managed to read and from all different fandoms, etc. I may post more often than that, and I'll probably post things other than recs, too (most likely gushing about shows, musings about characters, possibly even fic if I'm ever struck with the need to write some myself), but the once a week deadline will be the baseline for progress.
I have a sneaking suspicion that there's a bunch of fandom etiquette regarding recs and critiques that I don't yet know; I hope that I don't offend anyone in the meantime while I suss out the scene. I would be psyched to have input about such things, especially if it seems like I'm going in the wrong direction. I am also always looking for more good stuff to read, so please rec away.
Note to all: this journal is centered on discussing (deviant, or at least deviating) sexual behavior largely unintended by the creators of the characters involved. If these sorts of things bother you, I don't recommend reading on. If, on the other hand, that is exactly why you're here, then welcome!
