Still, they were a good omen, as vultures always are. It was awesome to see them wheeling over the rite in ones-and-twos, followed by more and more joining, until they became a full kettle, flying right there above the rite.
They were a very good omen! I think we done good yesterday. :)
I'm going to email you soon about some introspection I've done in conjunction with this whole Nine Moons, contemplative meditation thing, although I think I already know what you're going to say.
Heh, that's a good portion of it, yes. :) There's more, and when you have time, I'd still like to see those directions to that fire from my trance experience we discussed at the Liturgy meeting.
The rite was wonderful as I knew it would be and both Anna and Thorn did a good good with writting it and leading it. I liked the drumming but I think it needs redefined and worked on so that it ebbs and flows better.
Lees and I were talking after the ritual and she had a great idea about how we really have three (imagine) groups involved in ritual...priest/liturgist, drummers/bards and warriors/seers I think is what she said...
and that we should build subgroups that work on those three areas for ritual so that we have a "music/choir/drums" that works on the flow/ energy...warrior/seer for the warding and omen part (magic) and then the priest as DIC and offerings...
Priests/Liturgists write and lead rituals Magicians/initiates/seers/warriors the magical/mystical workings Bards/drummers/artisans maintain the energy through ritual through singing etc.
the categories would obviously be more fluid than that.
It was mostly a way to, in the future, encourage people to work through the various study programs, by rewarding those who do with a 'job'
Of course, when we get people through the DP maybe we can think about that :/
I love dangling carrots almost as much as I love dangling participles. :)
Okay, seriously, I think this is a wonderful idea. Now that I am done with school, I'd really like to start scheduling some bardic rehearsals. It's just hard to squeeze them in with a grove meeting every week, plus Druid moons, plus High Day rites, plus people have personal lives, etc. Sigh. We need more days in the month.

I also liked how the drumming throughout the ritual worked. I've got drummer envy.
