Trying to defeat the Food Monster

Went over to a pet store in Cambridge today, and now I'm trying an experiment with the kitten*. I bought Mari a gravity feeder to put her dry food into, and hopefully this will reduce the whining since she can get food under her own power rather than bugging us. She's was a little blimp-like at first, though I was warned that might happen and consulted with the MSPCA before I did it. This is probably the most food she's had consistently ever, so she needs to learn to pace herself. She's back to a normal size now.

She was in the mother of all food comas the night after I got her the feeder, and she seems to be dong pretty well. She's definitely less stressed to know she has food on hand if she's hungry, and she's been far less obnoxious. I did determine that she's just a talker in general and meows to get attention, but that's far less annoying.
