(no subject)
I'm finally employed. I've been volunteering at the Thomas Cole National Historic Site in Catskill for the last few weeks which is fun, and soon I'll be giving tours (come see me!), but I dont get paid which is a bummer. Sooo finally, today I got two jobs which is awesome. One is at the mall (Express) and I start (orientation) on Saturday morning. The other is with an art dealer who sends posters to my father to restore. I love the guy, he's really awesome, so I'm excited to work for him. I'll be going down to NYC 3 days a week to work. He has a gallery show in the beginning of July over in the Berkshires, so I'll be helping him get ready for that, and then set up. So for a while I'll actually justbe commuting to the Berkshires, but then I'll be in the city most likely Tues, Wed and Thurs after that helping him with inventory stuff and making a website, which I have no idea how to do... sooo, yea. awesome! He's a wealthy man who is very generous and fair, so I think he'll pay me well, and considering I am damn poor from being abroad, that is a relief. So I'm going to the city next wednesday night to get the apartment ready (aka stocked with cereal which is all you really need in life) and then we'll start outlining what I'll be doing Thursday Friday and part of Saturday, then I'll come home Saturday afternoon.
Also, Tomorrow afternoon I have an interview with the New York State archives finally. I've been bugging them since like March and they finally got their act together. So of course it's another unpaid internship, which I will try to do, but it will only be probably 2 mornings a week (like M and F). I think my project has something to do with genealogy in New York State which is kinda cool. Something about they're considering working with some company to put it online or something but they want me to investigate and see if it's worth it... I have no idea what I'll literally be doing though. We'll see tomorrow I suppose.
That's pretty much all that's going on. Oh and Cranium is the best game ever. Alyse, Maureen and I are awesome, thanks to Maureens kick ass drawing skills and Alyse's smarts and dice rolling ability hahaha! I can't believe I've been deprived of that game my whole life!
