Time for more thumb twiddling

Oct 29, 2009 11:44

So I actually got up at 08h today and was all fed, showered and dressed by the time Alison arrived and thus went off to yet another appointment with my psychiatrist.

He's concluded medication isn't doing me any good (gosh! really?) and as that's pretty much all he has to offer it's time for him to have a rethink. So now I get to sit and twiddle my thumbs whilst he consults with colleagues over the next step.

This means I come off the Pregabalin, initially by only taking one dose a day. I'll tail it off with every other day after a week or so. This was timed conveniently versus me currently having 15x100mg of it remaining.

I did make it very clear that I think the best thing for me would be one-on-one with a psychologist on (at least close to) a weekly basis. I've tried Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the past and I don't think it's ever going to work without a qualified external observer to help me with it.
