Such Confusion

Right, had my call back from DWP:IS.

It turns out that for some reason that probably equates to "pulled it out of their arse" they decided to take the initial payslip, which includes the Sick Pay backdated all the way to November 2005, and the amount on it as the one to cite when turning us down. Although to be honest I still can't see how they came up with 1124.19/weekly from that.

We're still not getting any Income Support, as the actual weekly amount of the sick pay is indeed over the amount we're supposed to be able to live on.

But they'll send us another letter now, hopefully one that makes sense, about exactly why that is.

Now, I just have to make sure that Housing/Council Tax Benefit isn't going to be screwed up by this. I did just try the phone number for them, but ended up in a queue, and I'm mostly certain they'd just ask us to go down there in person any way. So that's a job for tomorrow (given the waiting time of 30-60 mins, time to get there etc it's not worth risking trying to go today now).

dwp, idiots, income support, benefits
