Treason's Shore?

I must have completely missed this announcement, but when did Treason's Shore get added to the line-up of the Inda books? A friend surprised me with that news today, after I'd recommended Inda to him without being clear that it was a series, and he went searching. Sure enough, there's the news on Sherwood's site ( Read more... )

I'd meant it to be three books, but when I wrote King's Shield part two kept getting longer and longer, and not resolving. So I decided to break the rhythm with a part three. Like no one would care or notice but me...but the part three kept getting long and longer. So I started cutting threads, and cutting more threads, and finally I ended up with journalistic "what happened to" bits instead of scenes, and it was so horrible I crashed hard.

So I asked some people to read parts one and two, and sure enough, they formed one book. And part three had to be a book.

But about 75% of it is written, and it will not extrude another book, not not not. I have it alllllll under control, and it will behave! Bwa-ha-ha...

*exits, cackling madly*

If so much of it is written, will it be out quickly?

I love the title by the way... it's so intriguing. I really want to ask about the meaning behind the title, but the answer is probably filled with spoilers.

I suspect it will come out a year from now, as the others have. I'd like to have a first draft done by October, but dunno if that will happen. So far, the editor usually doesn't get to me until Feb or even March...last minute, in the book world.

That is one awesome title!

Why on earth would anyone complain because a story needs 4 volumes? The story needs as much space as it needs - if that makes sense.

I dunno, but all but one of the Amazon reviews dinged me for that. Le sigh!

Well, we'll have to fix that won't we? I don't generally leave reviews on Amazon... don't think about it I guess. But I shall go leave one right now, just for you. :-) Don't want you getting too dispirited.
