Kira and I just bought ourselves our first house!
Okay, so we haven't closed on it yet, but we made an offer this afternoon. By 9pm, the sellers had responded and agreed to all of our terms except our offered price of $82k + $2k cash back (they countered with $84k+$2k back) so we offered to meet halfway, and they accepted the offer! We close on June 15th, and then have until the end of July to do any renovations we want and move our stuff out of our apartment and into the house.
Its such a cool deal, though. The house has 4 bedrooms, 1.75 baths, an extra non-conforming bedroom, and a total of 1700 sq. ft. To compare, our current apartment is 3BR, 2Bath, 1080 sq. ft. and we're paying $660/month. Our mortgage payments are going to be over $100 cheaper.
So yeah, new house, which also means we'll be getting a puppy sometime soon! Yay, I finally get my dog!
