Dok had taken the opportunity of his day out to stop in to the coffee shop that afternoon. Since he'd been at the hospital a while earlier to re-submit his teaching application, he figured he'd go somewhere warm to read over the paperwork he'd been given in the meantime. A lot of it seemed pretty basic from what he'd skimmed as he was leaving -- a section on ethics, one on licensing and, since this was Aternaville, there was also a section devoted to special circumstances such as time travel and amnesia, both of which applied greatly to the doctor.

He had just stepped through the door when he noticed that he had nearly run into someone. Having avoided any sort of collision but still managing to be noticeable, he looked up at the man with an embarrassed, slightly exhausted laugh. "Ah, I'm sorry about that -- I really should pay more attention to where I'm going!"

"It's all right, mate. No harm done." Adam automatically sized up the person in front of him, evaluating...basically everything about him. Everything that might be important, from a professional perspective.

And things that he'd been told clicked against the things that he saw.

"Are you Dok, by any chance?" He extended a hand. "I'm Adam."

For a moment, Dok looked perplexed. From being sized up to someone he'd never seen knowing his name.

"I...yes?" he more asked than stated, still very confused.

It wasn't until the man introduced himself that Dok seemed to put the pieces together, a relieved smile crossing him as he took the hand that was offered. "Oh! Adam! Haha, that explains a lot. Wesley has told me so much about you! Would you care to have a seat? I think I owe you at least a cup of coffee for my clumsiness."

Adam smiled. "As a matter of fact, I was just thinking about coffee. It's nippy out there."
