He'd lost muscle mass in hospital, Adam could tell. For something to do, as much as anything else, he was determined to gain it all back, and to be physically well if not entirely mentally so. So he'd come up with a careful plan involving running, swimming, and weights. This afternoon, he was taking advantage of the light to go for a run. He thought it might be a good opportunity to see the town and perhaps some of its people as well.
It was chilly, so he'd bundled up with a hat and track trousers, but only wore a t-shirt, as he knew he'd get hot. As he ran, the breeze wicked away any sweat but left him glad to have dressed warmly. Still, he was cold, and as he approached the town he thought that it might be a good time to stop and warm up in a coffeeshop.
