Then there was the dance floor -- but trying to dance without a partner was a sure way to look like an even bigger fool.
Seeing the lack of options, he went with his first instinct and turned toward the bar to maybe loosen his sense of self-worth. Not noticing (of course) the kid, until they'd near nearly knocked each other over. Stumbling back, Felix blinked, stunned out of his daydreaming. "Uh. Frak, no, I'm sorry...wasn't paying attention to where I was going." He may have been taller and older, but he didn't think either of those things should warrant disrespectful behavior. Nudging his way around him, he started to head toward the bar, only to find that the kid was heading in the same direction.

Looking over at the other man as he took a cup from the stack and worked the keg like a pro, Sid raised his eyebrows. "Want a beer?" he asked, reaching toward the stack of cups to grab another, in case the other man did want one. He might as well just get both of them their drinks while he was at it, he supposed. The least he could do for knocking into the bloke.

Lifting his eyebrows and running a hand back through his hair, he shrugged, seeing that the kid already had a cup in hand. "Um. Sure? Thanks," taking the beer when offered.
It was fizzy, but weak. Still, he wasn't about to complain. He glanced at Sid. "Some party."

After filling the cup, Sid handed it over to the man and then filled his own, taking a drink as he turned away from the keg and looked out at everyone else the the room. Again, he shrugged. "I s'pose," he agreed half-heartedly. He didn't see anyone he knew, but then again, Sid didn't know a lot of people. "'m just here because I was on my way up to my room after work and I heard all the bloody noise and thought I'd see what it was," he admitted. Then, he looked over at the man and decided he ought to introduce himself. "'m Sid," he offered, holding out his free hand to shake.

Though, despite being here solely to support his friend, Kimberly was nowhere in sight. At least not from where Felix could see in the wash of unfamiliar faces. He and Sid had that much in common -- they didn't really know a lot of people.
