Father Mulcahy had been out for a walk in the park earlier in the day when he had stumbled upon the cemetery. It didn't look as though anyone had been buried in town for years and years, which was odd, but rather in keeping with the peculiarity of this town. After all, if people winked here and winked out again, as he was told they did, there would really be no need for a cemetery. But then, where had the people who were buried here come from? There seemed to be few people in town who were of the town. Where were the descendants of the people who were buried here? It was all very perplexing.

With that in mind, Father Mulcahy decided that he ought to do something to pay his respects to the souls in the graveyard. So he returned several hours later, trowel in hand, and began to pull weeds that grew around the grave sites. The least he could do was help keep things tidy, to show respect for those who had come before in this town.
