Richie was finally getting into the swing of things again. He'd missed so much while he was cooped up in his apartment; dreaming (as he assumed he had been) that his best friend came to town to beat him into hamburger meat would do that to a guy. But Richie knew he couldn't stay inside forever, and he didn't really want to. There was so much to do outside, so much that he had missed.
So he'd gone to the library this morning to get a couple books, and was now sprawled on the grass with his back against a tree, reading "The Dharma Bums". He found Beat poetry pretty exciting, though he'd been alone so much of the time that he hoped someone would come along and talk to him. If not, though, he could read.
