She'd been hanging around, waiting for the stupid woman to make her simple coffee. It was taking far to long.
Starbuck leaned back against the counter, hurry up woman! She was about to give the girl a piece of her mind when the door to the closet busted open and someone spilled out of it in an almost comical manner.
Gaeta stumbled out, expressive eyebrows pulling into a look of both shock and something wholly overwhelmed. He still wore the Galactica uniform, of course, dark blue, top buttons half-undone for the sake of comfort. Again, he looked around, eyes widening sharply at the sound of his name. "Wh -- " Though he couldn't settle on which of the five W's to start with.
He recognized Kara when his eyes adjusted to the morning light and couldn't help but think that she looked a little bit different, and that this dream was far more vivid than the ones he normally had. (Instinctively he searched for Cylons -- there were always Cylons in these dreams.)
The confused expression turned to one of distress. If he was dreaming, then he was certainly lucid dreaming. But Felix didn't have lucid dreams, and this one was oddly vivid, which meant --
"What?" It seemed the only thing he was capable of saying at the moment, looking around at the odd looks he was drawing from shop owners and customers alike. "I -- " He turned a darkish shade of red, olive skin not quite conducive to the color. And then her question registered. In all the rush of new colors and places and smells, Felix had forgotten about the horrific mess that had once been his leg. Immediately, and for the moment uncaring of the others that sat in the cafe, Felix bent and touched his left knee, and the calf beneath that. It was still there.
"Yeah." His voice sounded so faint and relieved. "Yeah, I think I do."
Well, if that wasn't the oddest thing Ianto's seen to date he... it wasn't the oddest thing Ianto's seen to date. Erm. It was the oddest thing he's seen today, at least.
Ianto had taken over the coffee shop with typical bustling cheerfulness and a good deal of sarcasm and frankly had been enjoying himself greatly with the organization of things. The staff had been confused at the minibonfire of teabags, but since Ianto was the boss, they had dealt with it as they saw fit, which was to smile and nod. But the gent coming out of his storage closet..? He was fairly certain that wasn't supposed to happen. Especially as he had been in said closet ten minutes before the man came out and nothing but coffee shop supplies had been in there.
The fact that the woman knew this man wasn't strange for this town. When they sat, Ianto set down his clipboard (he rather liked clipboards) and picked up a notepad and wandered over towards the pair. "Ah, hallo. Can I get you anything...?"
It really wasn't the best time. Felix looked confused and several different kinds of distraught, with the added appearance of someone who'd just woken up someplace strange after a night of ambrosia.
"What? Get me .. ?" He looked at Kara, still trying to process the things she'd said. Earth? It then occurred to him to acknowledge where they were, exactly, and the delicious smell of ground coffee and milk. "Uh. Coffee, right?" He looked at Kara inquisitively and then nodded up at the man. "Yeah. Coffee. Please."
Right just what she needed, when Gaeta was in a whacked out mood. The coffee shop guy. "I was waiting to get my drink from the counter girl who was taking way to fraking long. It should be done by NOW."
She hoped that by being nasty enough, he'd go away, at least for now.
Ianto turned towards the woman, eyebrows raised curiously. "Oh, well then I'll fetch you your coffee, shall I?" Despite her nasty tone, Ianto remained serene and drifted towards the counter a little bemused. Sweet girl, that.
"I..." Felix laughed again, shaking his head slowly before taking a long drink of the coffee, the burn down his throat pleasant. Every one of his motions seemed carefully contained and controlled, like he was always in charge of himself. That or afraid to let anything go.
"Well, I guess the very fact that I'm here is proof enough that this place is out of the ordinary." He bit carefully into the scone, sighing at it with a contented grin.
"Take it however you need to," advised Ianto, who then leaned on the counter, mug cradled between his palms. He inhaled the fragrant coffee, enjoying it as slowly as possible while there was a lull in business. "Take it as the universe deciding you need someplace calm and safe for a while. Well. Maybe not entirely calm. But the things that happen generally seem to be of the harmless, if incredibly weird, sort."
"I wouldn't mind that." He spoke softly into the mug before finishing. Calm was one thing he'd never had enough of in Galactica. So much so that he'd quite forgotten what it was like. He became afraid to relax, after a point, because relaxing meant that the hard decisions would only get harder.
Felix pushed back from the bar and straightened, brushing crumbs off his uniform. He gave Ianto a quick, quiet smile. "Thank you, Ianto. I really appreciate you helping me out."

She looked him up and down, no crutch, either he lost it or... "Gaeta? Do you have two legs?"
