Because it was far less chilly now, River could wear lighter jackets and lighter, less boot-like boots. Things fit better now, thanks to that last shopping trip with the Doctor. Shoes fit like shoes and made River feel stable. Nice how shoes did that to you.
She watched her feet, traveling down the sidewalk with a small stream of people all headed in the same direction. They seemed to flock outside of a small store, each holding bright pieces of paper and smelling of anticipation. Either that or days of not showering. River stopped, then, standing on the tips of her toes in attempt to see over the heads of the many. It's not like she'd ever seen a comic book signing before.
"I don't understand..." She cocked her head to the side, catching a glimpse of the author, and then, turning to look at the tall man beside her, asked, "Why is his name important? Is he a king?"
