"Nothing with you is easy, Red." And that was kind of why he liked it. Masochist that the blonde man was, apparently. "But there are other ways to do it. Most not including bodily harm. No getting hit by buses either. Full body cast? Not. Awesome."

He looked down at her tugging hand and grinned a little. "I'm racking up points to cash in later."

"Oh, is it a point system now?" She moved her hand to her head to hold the towel in place, fingers brushing against his in the process. "Do you honestly keep track?" Red wouldn't be surprised; Barney seemed like the sort to make foolish lists for foolish reasons. "How many points do I have and what can I spend them on?"

"Of course it is." How was it not a point system? He gave her a funny look about that! Always games and schemes for Barney, even his own life. Because he liked to gamble.

"I have a tally board. You haven't seen it?" He snorted a little, grinning. "And you have fifty seven points. I have one hundred and three." Right. Of course he did.

"Cheater." Red murmured the word grudgingly against his leg when she got close enough, leaning on his knee. "Redeemable for favors?" Of a naughty sort, she hoped. "I think I earned a hell of a lot of points for that bit after Valentine's Day." If she hadn't -- well then they would both knew Barney was a liar.

"Fifty points. At least."

"Definitely redeemable." Of course for naughty favours! Were there really any other kind? And..he sighed, as if all put out, "Yeah..I guess you did earn a lot of points for that."

Barney paused, thinking, "Fourty five points." Putting her at one hundred and two. Still one behind him. Hah.

"Guess I'll owe you when I'm better." Red was cautious, leaning heavily against Barney as she got to her feet. Remarkably, she felt better, her head clean and wet and smelling like lavender. "Can't just let you win me so easy...Like you won Kimberly and all those other girls."

She had looked through his scrapbooks, of course, both amused and a little weirded out. It consoled her, on an odd level, that Barney was the sort to keep trophies of his conquests. "Why didn't you finish my pages?" It was kind of depressing.

He took in a breath, smiling a little at the smell of lavender that wafted over. Ugh. Get it together, Stinson. Blue eyes rolled at himself, and he helped her out of the bathroom.

"Jealous. That's all you are." He grinned, then shrugged the unoccupied shoulder when Red asked why her pages weren't done. "I--" Paused, "Haven't thought of awesomeness for the page yet. We've done a lot of crazy things." Barney replied with a laugh.

Well when he put it that way...

"You didn't finish Robin's page either."

Yes, there it was again -- that monstrous envy and the forbidden "R" word. She was jealous, and though Red wasn't about to answer his accusation, she wasn't about to deny it either. She wanted him. For herself. Of course Red was accepting of the idea that other women were going to get their hands on him, but she had a boundless confidence in two things:

That no woman could do the things she did to him.
That he would always -- always be Hers.

She'd claimed him, and now they were inexorably tied.

Damn Red. She had gone through each page thoroughly, hadn't she? And what exactly was Barney going to say about that one? He grinned and lifted his eyebrows, opening his mouth. But what came out wasn't exactly what he thought he was going to say.

"She knew about the scrapbook before. Threatened me if I finished it!" He rolled his eyes, as if put out by that. Which he would have been! "Can you believe it? Pft."

"Hmph. No." Flat. Straightforward. She leaned heavily on Barney as he led her back into the living room. Red wouldn't believe a word he said, and was about to ask several questions but was unable to, in her drugged-out sensibilities. She thought she did speak, several times, when really she'd just thought the words -- the painkillers did their magic well.

Sitting on the couch, she pulled Barney along with her, using his lap gently as her personal pillow because her real blanket and pillows were on the floor.

Thank god for painkillers. Barney was off the hook! He went along with Red, grinning again.

"You know. I like you all drugged up." Said in teasing as he sat down and shifted so that she could lay her head in his lap. Using some awesome moves of legs and a slight bend, he picked up the blanket and laid it over Red.

"Hmmm...and why's that?" Her head rested gently against his thigh, damp hair seeping wetness into the fabric. She was very comfortable -- Barney had a very comfortable lap, to which she would readily admit. But he knew that already.

"You argue less." Pft. Barney liked that she argued with him. But he would never ever tell her that!

"And, you know, you're all in my lap and stuff. So. While you're down there.." He started, still grinning.

"What?" She dared him -- dared him to say those words, instead shifting her head a little bit in his lap, stretching out the arm on the bottom, over his thighs for added padding. Barney was amazing, but he was still an idiot most of the time.

Closing her eyes, Red began to drift.

He laughed and watched Red move, thinking naughty thoughts about what he was joking about. "While you're down there.." Barney said again, then lifted his eyebrows. "Get some sleep."

His hand lifted, as if to play with still damp hair, but dropped it until she fell deeper into sleep.

She'd gotten far more used to falling asleep with Barney, finding deep comfort in the clean way he smelled, always pressed in dry-cleaned suits and hair fragrant with girlish shampoos. "Sleep? Right." Curling one around the inside of his thigh, just above his knee, Red pressed her mouth into an invisible kiss to nowhere in particular.
