Ugh. Comcast already does that here. I think downloading fanfiction and gifs will be fine. I think they will be more concerned with video and music downloads. I honestly don't think by law they can stop you from posting your own original stories.

Yup. I have comcast too. I've never been into downloading movies and crap; and I think it's the ridiculously huge files that will throw up red flags. I've always bought all my music on assorted media depending on what's available...even when it was 'legal' it was too much a pain in the ass for me to figure out.

I think that's the reason why they're doing it, to crack down on video and music downloads. What I don't like is their plan to throttle or even cut off internet service to any user they think is going "against the rules". What if entire households and businesses are using the same provider in the same house/building? What then? Entire families and businesses are going to be inconvenienced T_T

Comcast can be especially horrible. We think they are the reason why our wireless is having issues. They don't like people using wireless. Why who knows they are stupid lol So we think they are blocking it on purpose. We've heard it from other people that comcast has done it to them. We would switch but right now they are the only ones that offer high speed in our area.

It's hard to imagine them doing that. They can't even screen for spam effectively. This I have to se.

My worry is that Australia will follow suit if this gets the green light in the US. And as I said to Karen, what burns me up is that this will give US internet providers the power to cut off anyone they see as "breaking the rules". Ugh.

By the way...It looks like part of your css is missing...your comments page should look just like your entry page.

No, I actually did that on purpose ^^; Whenever I've used customised comment pages in the past, the comments get extremely squashed up, to the point where the words go down the screen one by one, making later comments almost impossible to read, especially if you've got a long thread with lots of comments ^^; Don't worry; your eyes aren't deceiving you.

Terrible, hon'. :( Getting so nothing is "free", anymore. Even EMI is cracking down and blocking their formerly unblocked Beatle vids on YT. Can't stand it.

Thanks for the heads-up, luv. x

You said it. What's more, I'm worried this may spread to Australia, and then what? It's getting so you can't download anything you want these days. Or even listen to soundtracks on YT. Sure, there are the true pirates out there, but there are other users who simply want to download and enjoy music on their computers, just for the pleasure of it :(

..true. It's become so..I don't know what the word is, but..our freedom is being taken away. :/ We can't even share and enjoy things with each other. It's become such a greedy, money-hungry society. Anyone with a brain knows no one making vids using copyrighted material on YT is making any money off of it. I just bought a video on John a few days ago that I hoped to upload to YT and share with others. I never, ever stop to think about people downloading anything I upload, to be honest. I'm more than happy to share what I've got for others' enjoyment. If people were hurting others due to it or unfairly profiting off of it, I would be very upset..but I know it's not possible or permissible. So many Beatle fans out there are being hit very hard with this EMI stuff..and it's become rather petty and tragic at the same time..and now to hear that downloads will be monitored..it's horrible. I was going through my faves on my channel to make sure I had everything downloaded, anyway. Now I'm gonna have to make sure I do it all before this date ( ... )

You summed it up perfectly. It's greed, plain and simple. Companies don't want people enjoying stuff without having to pay for it, and they're cracking down on everyone who watches/shares/downloads stuff. Like I said, there are pirates, but there are others who just want to enjoy what's out there, simply because it's accessible. And what if some of us don't have the money to buy soundtracks? I admit, that's the reason why I do download music. I download it so I can listen to it either on my computer, or on my phone when I'm out and about. That's all. Sure, I could buy the albums, but what's the point of that when I want only one or two tracks?
