Blindness movie
Blindness, a science fiction novel by Nobel laureate Jose Saramago, is now a movie. It stars Gael Garcia Bernal, Danny Glover, Julianne Moore, Mark Ruffalo, and it's due out in September. The story is about a plague of blindness and its effects on the victims and the rest of society trying to shield themselves from it.
We read this book in the FACT Reading Group, and I wrote up a report on the discussion. The book was careful to not to tie its events to any particular time or place, and none of the characters have a name or a physical description. A film will have a hard if not impossible time to get across this quality.
