The climate controlled enviroment and sterile hallways were exactly what Heine did not like about the supposed ship. The handed out uniforms and numbers across his forearm drove the nail in more about his distaste. Too much like his fragmented memories causing his paranoia to take a stronger hold ( ... )

Zouichi heard Heine before he saw him. He turned toward the source of the sound, curious -- was there someone else on board who'd hit the gardens this quickly? Odd set of priorities.

"Looking for something?" he asked as Heine came into view. If the answer was 'my contact lens', this guy was out of luck.

Instinctively Heine reached around to his back first before pausing and letting his hands fall back in place. Jumpiness was not the right word for it, more like unnerving was the coming in verbal contact with someone. So far, that being hours at best, nothing remotely sinister had happened other than the same predicament everyone else was in. They may not be enemies, but they were not allies that he could relax completely around.

"Answers." If something can be answered with one word, then he would. Talking was trivial and wasteful if nothing came of it. His dim red eyes went about Zouichi unsure about that armor. Again he pulled at his collar making sure that it was high and no revealing his scarred lines.

Zouichi watched as the man pulled at his collar -- a nervous tic, maybe? In any case, he didn't seem very talkative.

"Think you're going to find them on safari?" Alas, it didn't look like either of them was going to make a 'Welcome to the Jungle' joke. Alan cocked his head at the sound of Heine's voice, watching the strange man with one beady little bird eye. It seemed that for the moment, the whirring noises of the insects nearby had stopped.

Pulling his collar up was a means to hide something. When Heine had woken up there were no bandages to wrap his neck and to shield that metal band encasing the back. People asked questions when they saw that. Too many questions that he rather not have to answer.

"Who knows, but standing still is a helluva sure way not to." Jokes were made at the most inconvenient times when he did make them. Always sarcastic and dark to the taste. The bird received a passing glance. Nothing odd about a bird.

"Well, don't let me keep you," Zouichi said. There would be time to explore later, when everyone was asleep and thus not wandering the corridors. For now... it was jungle time.

"Space," announced Alan, deciding Heine was not someone he should be particularly concerned about. The parrot reached over to chew idly on a strand of Zouichi's hair... although he did still keep one eye on Heine.

Heine would not let Zouichi keep him. He has not let anyone else aboard the ship. A narrow eyebrow raises at the bird speaking and watching from its one eye. His left hand braces the back of his neck as the dark of his eyes widens in staring.

"Yea." A brief word and then he is off slowly walking again. Out of the people seen and heard, he would have to give him a bonus for not being twitchy or flooding the air with questions. It makes him suspicious though. To be that calm with what has happened, but so has he externally if his illusion of tranquility is holding.

"By the way," said Zouichi suddenly, waiting to see if Heine would turn and stop.

"Be careful."

He shoots a wary look back. That was unexpected, people usually did not give a wave of a stick about anything except themselves.

"Short chance." A faint cynical grin tugs at his lips. Hard to be safe when curious.

Well, he couldn't say Zouichi hadn't tried.

He only hoped Heine didn't wander into a futuristic trash compactor or something.
