If my life was a movie...

Stole this off someone a long time ago. I'm sure the copyright has expired so I'm not worried. Sue me.

Basically just put my playlist on random, then fill the list with each song that came on. I've filtered all my Chinese songs since no one knows it. These songs were chosen when I stole this, so it's a long, long time ago. Regrettably a lot of songs I like now won't be included. And since I'm bored, I'll add a commentary along each item on the list.

Opening Credits: Sweetest Goodbye - Maroon 5
No comment. Probably won't work. I also envision a cold opening for my movie, possibly reverse storytelling. Probably difficult to execute, because I get hung up so much on past events that the viewers won't understand my current actions.

Waking up: Pressure - Swollen Members
That's the song to wake up to alright. Lose Yourself by Eminem, Clubbed to Death by Rob D, and Tomoyasu Hotei's Battle Without Honor or Humanity also works to pump myself up. I'm a firm believer of the "quick start" mentality - meaning I get my energy up in the morning, the rest of the day would be a blast (as opposed to the "cold engine" types that needs a slow warm-up). Depending on what type of day it is though, I might go from Evanescence to Daniel Powter to Evard Grieg as the first song of the day.

First Day at Highschool: You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate
Simply perfect. Paired with a slo-mo walk with a cocky chin-up, just like Fogel. (By the way, he's the only one who got laid... well, half-laid.)

Falling in Love: Photograph - Nickelback
Yeah... it really only works in a music video as part of a montage. I would not use it at all. For tacky comedy, Bryan Adam's Have You Ever Really Loved is best. For poking fun, Michael Jackson's That Girl is Mine would be perfect. For something a _tad_ more serious, maybe use You've Lost That Loving Feeling by the Righteous Brothers. And now that I'm on that track... Unchained Melody and Earth Angel works too. (Now I'm just listing oldies that I like.)

Fight Song: There She Goes - Sixpence None the Richer (Cover)
I think that's a good juxtaposition. Good as part of the angry storm-up leading to the fight.

Breaking Up: White Flag - Dido
Other than the title, it doesn't really fit. Even as part of the "oh I'm so sad, looking out the rainy window" scene it doesn't work too well. For comedic effect, I think Air Supply's All Out of Love is much better, or Flight of the Conchord's I'm not Crying. For a light-hearted look on the situation, use Simon and Garfunkel's Cecilia. In a serious film though, Fresh Feeling by Eels is great. Also Howie Day's Collide. For a little more campy atmosphere, Lucinda Williams' Are You Alright? works too. (Yes, I've given a LOT of thought on this particular one.)

Prom: Kiss Me - Sixpence None the Richer
Yes. I'm a hopeless romantic, I know - and my list was on random! Lonestar's Amazed work too, as I was told if I serenade this to a girl, she _will_ melt. Other panty-droppers include Your Body is a Wonderland... Bublé's Everything? Maybe. I think Jimmy Gets High might work too. Add in Utada Kiaru's First Love as a foreign shout-out. And just to spite someone, I'll add in Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girl onto the soundtrack. (And the aforementioned Earth Angel, to recreate that classic Back to the Future scene.)

Life: Main Theme of Blood Money ~ Reprise - Jesper Kyd, Budapest Symphonic Orchestra
I guess that could work... but like in the Hitman series, better at a funeral.

Mental Breakdown: Jammin - Bob Marley
It's a good fit I think, but only for the "I'm going to smoke my way out of this depression" type of breakdown (well... it's Bob Marley after all). I'm drawing a blank for the "I'm trashing the room" type of breakdown.

Driving: Wonderful Tonight - Eric Clapton
Only at night, in one of those midnight city driving scenes. For open road in the daytime, it has to be Summer of 69.

Flashback: Holiday - Green Day
No. Just no. I'd have chosen Good Life by Francis Dunnery.

Getting Back Together: I can See Clearly Now - Johnny Nash
Nope. Just no. Any of the "Falling in Love" songs would work too. Add in Neil Diamond's Delirious Love.

Wedding: Song 2 - Blur
I'd strongly oppose to that. I say Nine Inch Nail's Closer works best for this situation. You know what, I'm going to make that the song for the first dance in my wedding. Even the lyrics are perfect. (Or do what the other couple has done already - dance to Sir Mixalot's Baby Got Back.)

Birth of Child:Sweet Home Alabama - Lynard Skynard
I really don't what's good for this, but I do know that Sweet Home Alabama won't work...
I'm thinking Circle of Life or Can You Feel the Love Tonight from the Lion King soundtrack? (Maybe?)

Final Battle: Dream On - Aerosmith
I think the whole, out-of-body, surreal aspect of the song would fit my final battle. I think this guitar-heavy track and eventual build-up works in an extended battle.
I think Final Fantasy VII's The People Fight (Piano Version) would work too. Yes, I'm a cartoon character wielding a ridiculously large sword.
I guess my third choice could be Koyaanisqatsi by Philip Glass, for the dark, almost gothic overtone.

Death Scene: This Love - Maroon 5
This is certainly a difficult one... I'd have chosen a selected verse on Hold on Hope, by Guided By Voices. Or Bon Ivor's Re: Stacks. Or if it segues into the funeral, Josh Radin's Winter or Isreal Kamamawiwo'ole's cover of Somewhere Over the Rainbow.

Funeral Song: Almost - Bowling for Soup
It's so stingingly ironic to get this for the funeral that I should keep this.

End Credits: Sweet Emotion - Aerosmith
Not too bad for end credits. Poets of the Fall's Late Goodbye works too, but really, almost any song would work.

So there it is, if my life was a movie, it'd be a contorted medley of pure apocalyptic comedy-drama bliss told in a reverse-storytelling mockumentary format. This is a ridiculously long post, but none of you have the right to complain until you do a full day of SAS programming. I needed the catharsis.
