416. Reaction to The Deathly Hallows Part 1 ...

Nov 23, 2010 20:13

In random order: Whoa. Laugh. Gasp. HOLY SH*T. Gripping the edge of my seat. Smile. Awww. Oh, HELL NO! Shudder. Cried ... In fact, I had teary eyes for three scenes.

You can just guess which scene triggered which reaction. One thing that made me pissed off though ( Slightly spoiler for the DVD release )

harry potter, ron/hermione

No, David Yates is a supporter of Harry/Draco. LOL. It's Steve Kloves that is a supporter of Harry/Hermione -- David Yates wasn't even involved yet when they started the H/Hr thing, back in Movie 3 or Movie 4 -- and sometimes I feel like he completely misses the point of the books when adapting them for the screenplay. O__o;;

Oh, okay, so I guess all of my bad thoughts should go to Steve Kloves then? BUT, David Yates decide NOT to put that scene in the movie, so I guess he's an idiot too.

Idiot might be too strong a word. I guess there just wasn't enough time. But at least it's going to the DVD.

They did cut a lot of other important stuff too - there's supposed to be a Harry-Aunt Petunia scene, too. That would've been more important than any trio scene they can think of. Petunia-Harry semi-reconciliation is canon. Total canon. The Ron/Hermione scene Yates was talking about wasn't. So, I really think that should've been in the movie. On the other hand, they made up for it by showing Hermione Obliviating her parents.

Oh, well. Like I said, as a fan I have a few issues with the movie. But as a movie fan, this film is perfect and I wouldn't change a thing!

Beware, that idiot comment is coming from the Ron/Hermione fan in me talking, yeah? ^_^. But like you, as a moviegoer, I think it's pretty good. I don't mind the shaky camera at all. It's not as bad as some movies I have seen in previous years.

ALTHOUGH, I still need a "neutral" opinion from someone who is NOT a Harry Potter reader. Someone like my sister. Though with her busy schedule, I'm not sure I can drag her to watch this anytime soon (plus, she's not a Harry Potter fan, so she doesn't have the initial excitement with the film)
